Job Title: Senior Payload RF Systems Engineer

Their activities cover complete civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design discussions, approving standard specifications, approving project specific specifications in conjunction with the project payload engineering manager and validation engineer.

• Act as technical focal point with suppliers, with a view to creating development plans, resolving technical problems and ensuring design to cost and schedule.

• Ensuring closure on all technical problems and that lessons learned are implemented across all ongoing and future projects.

• Preparing/presenting technical presentations on High Power Amplification aspects in front of end customers as required.

• Establish the need by agreement with the project payload engineering manager.

• Attending supplier evaluation reviews and make the recommendations of preferred candidate(s) in terms of design, performance, risk, product policy and design to cost requirements.

• Agreeing the content of Generic Statements of Work and Project Specific Modifications including applicability matrices.

• Ensuring validation of Power Amplifiers at satellite level once assembled. Maintaining a database of all relevant product information.

Essential Requirements



• BSc qualification in a relevant discipline

• Demonstrated competence and in depth knowledge of relevant RF hardware gained in a design/development/production environment

• A methodical approach to work, with sufficient commitment and drive complete tasks, even where adverse conditions are encountered

• Experience of working directly with customers/suppliers and with the ability to present ideas and concepts to the customer/supplier with authority

• A willingness to travel overseas
