Diesel Applications Engineer



Main Purpose of the Job: To provide engineering applications support for a customer rail diesel project.Main Tasks of the Job: To develop hardware specifications through discussions with the customer, manufacturing and HQ. To provide engine application support, including FIE calibration and validation. Support the component validation.Personnel: Must be able to work under their own initative. Would not be directly responsible for any other personnel.Resources: Must be able to plan and specify any resources required to complete their work.Planning: Able to produce project plans to manage their own work and specify the requirements of those that feed into their work stream.Decisions: Required to make engineering decisions and recommendations that would require approval from the Principal Engineer/Engineering Manager.Supervision: Reporting to the Principal Engineers.Contacts: Daily contact with staff inside the company at all levels. Direct contact with HQ and manufacturing at a working level and at manager level as required.Working Conditions: Based in an open plan office in Coventry with access to laboratory, chasis dyno and test bed facilities. Regular travel to the customer site and occasional travel to other company offices.
